Nicole is a loving partner and mother to her child who has been struggling to both provide for and keep her family together. Low wages and her partner’s health issues have meant that getting a residence of their own and living together had been out of reach.
Recently with government support the family was relocated to their own residence. With the three of them together Nicole could support her partner through his health challenges while being a parent and provider for her child. The Barzilai Foundation Hardship Grant program provided funds needed to get appliances and basic home essentials.
Our hardship grant program exists because we know that sometimes, loving families with great intentions still need help and unfortunately for families living in poverty, items we may consider as basics necessities are out of reach.
Barzilai Foundation partners with National Benevolent Charity to provide help to low-income families. Hardship grants provide just in time support for critical life moments including essential home needs, food insecurity, new employment costs.
For a couple and their young daughter outfitting their home with basic necessities was out of reach due to job loss from the pandemic. As they rebuilt their life and home our hardship grant helped provide support.
