Why Educational Infrastructure

The promise of education is the opportunity to live a life with financial stability, break generational poverty cycles, and fulfil individual potential. In every country our Foundaiton operates, more education correlates to higher lifetime earning potential.

Unfortunately, systemic limitations in education systems means that not all students are able to realise the promise of a better future. In the poorest communities of India, more than 2 out of every 3 students will drop out of school before completing secondary education*. In Ethiopia, even though completing secondary education more than doubles a student’s earning potential, only 5% of students pass certification tests, which are administered in English**. For schools in developing countries, there is often limited access to on-site hygiene facilities which plays a major factor in attendance and retention***.

The Barzilai Foundation has launched programs intended to reach students on a large scale by working on the underlying infrastructure limitations within education system. These programs include physical infrastructure as well as large scale training programs that will enhance the access and quality of education for millions of students.
