New vehicle will increase capacity for certain projects by as much as 50%
The EV Foundation supports disadvantaged families in the Gibraltar area who face financial challenges. EV’s work includes many cases where providing furnishings, appliances, or large loads of materials or supplies is required. Unfortunately, without proper vehicles, executing on this means hiring vans, delaying jobs, or relying on personal or third party vehicles, which is not ideal. Last year, they had over one hundred such situations, adding significant cost to their work.
EV is one of the first organizations the Barzilai Foundation partnered with, and we’ve witnessed first-hand the impact of these interventions to create better living conditions for families. Seeing that the lack of proper transportation was capping their ability to serve the Gibraltar area, we purchased a van that removed that barrier and leveled-up their operational capability.
We estimate that with the new vehicle, the EV’s capacity to provide large items such as beds and appliances will increase by over 50%, while at the same time, they will save significantly on their operational costs. This translates to the ability to help many more families in the Gibraltar community, providing them the basics so they can focus on their next step forward.
